Stand Up! Speak Up! Shut Up! Sit Down! Those were wise words of advice from my dad when I first started trying to preach. He was not a fan of long winded preaching that didn't know when to stop. He loved preaching and envisioned the kind that got to the point and stopped when the point was made. Another vision of preaching is that more is better: if one passage is good, then a dozen is better. In the scheme of things that conflict of visions isn't nearly as bad as the one we examined in last Sunday's morning sermon for NECOC. In Acts 5:17-42 there's a serious conflict of visions. On the one hand was God's vision where the apostles stood up and spoke up about Jesus. On the other hand was man's vision, exemplified by the Jewish leaders, who wanted them to shut up. At first inclined to kill them, a wise old Pharisee persuaded them to just Stay Away, and let the movement stand or fall on its own. So, instead of killing the apostles, they had them beaten and told them to shut up. Whose vision do you think won? The sermon is now available under Audio, Weekly Sermons. As a bonus, our Sunday night sermon, A Transcendent Walk: Holiness, from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8, is there too. Both are worth your time. Feel free to listen, download and share them.

Our Mission
It is our desire to serve God according to His will as authorized for His church in the New Testament.  As prescribed in Revelation 22:18-19 we seek to neither add to nor subtract from the doctrine contained in God's Word.  We're simply christians working together for the glory of God who trust that "the good hand of God is on us" (Ezra 7 & 8).  We have two godly men serving as shepherds of the church; Gary Phillips and Mark Venable.  James McClenny serves as the preacher.  The members, elders, and preacher are united as one with one aim - the praise of God's glory (Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14).
