Visions of the Dying Christ
What does Easter mean to you? Is it a significant religious event? Is it a family event with little or no religious meaning? Or is it something you avoid because of its many pagan influences? However you may treat the day, Easter is coming soon and countless millions will be celebrating (?) the Resurrection. Here at NECOC we celebrate the Resurrection every Lord's Day and this coming Easter Sunday will be no different, except for one coincidence. We've been studying the Gospel of Mark for almost two years and are winding up to the conclusion. Currently we're working our way through the final 24 hours before Jesus is laid in the tomb. Because we have the benefit of revelation, and know Jesus didn't stay there, we may not fully appreciate what Jesus went through in those final hours as the clock ticked down to his death on the cross. Hopefully the series of sermons covering that final 24 hours, starting with The First Communion in January and ending with The Bitter Cup on March 25, will grant us all a deeper insight into the dying Christ. Soak up the sorrow and pain so The Empty Tomb can fill us with unimaginable joy on April 1.

Our Mission
It is our desire to serve God according to His will as authorized for His church in the New Testament.  As prescribed in Revelation 22:18-19 we seek to neither add to nor subtract from the doctrine contained in God's Word.  We're simply christians working together for the glory of God who trust that "the good hand of God is on us" (Ezra 7 & 8).  We have two godly men serving as shepherds of the church; Gary Phillips and Mark Venable.  James McClenny serves as the preacher.  The members, elders, and preacher are united as one with one aim - the praise of God's glory (Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14).

Past Gospel Meetings

The Holy Spirit. In February 2018 we participated in an excellent series of lessons by Larry McClenny on the nature and work of the Holy Spirit. All six lessons are available under the Audio button. Larry also presented our Finding The Way lesson on Sunday, February 4. It's available on our Facebook page. Enjoy them. Learn from them. Share them.

The Sermon on the Mount. Often called the greatest sermon in history the depth of teaching is beyond compare. In November 2017 we shared in a study of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in a special series by Donnie Rader. Feel free to download and listen as they too are available under the Audio button.
